Originally, cowboys had no need to wear belts.  They usually wore suspenders to hold up their pants.  But as Western hit the big screen and cowboy actors started sporting oversized buckles, people started to wear these large and rugged buckles as well.  It was the birth of a trend that was made to last over the ages, and is even a craze up to this very moment.

Now, belt buckles are becoming the latest accessory, and they come in all shapes, sizes, designs, and materials.  It comes in many themes that are sure to capture the hearts of many people, regardless of personality or gender.  Whether you’re a rock star, goth, punk, or sports fan, you’re sure to love using these buckles in order to make a statement about your personality.

But the Western style is something that most people prefer, and Western belt buckles are best sellers.  Traditional Western buckles are often given out as trophies and medals in rodeos, where it is handed down to the best rodeo rider for that event.  Therefore, these are often displayed and worn with pride and dignity.

But nowadays, even you can get a Western fashion buckle even without winning an event.  There are many stores today that sell these buckles that still exhibit the same rustic and rugged Western appeal.  Most popular designs include the bull rider, the word “rodeoâ€, eagles, guns, steer head, boots and saddle, spurs, horseshoe, animals like horses and the buffalo, and Texas and other Southern state signs.  Usually, these are silver or gold plated, and may come in a round, oval, or square shape.  There are also some buckles that are shaped according to the design.

Wearing these Western belt buckles will definitely make a statement and let you stand out in a crowd.  It makes the wearer unique and immediately spices up any Western ensemble too.  Also, it’s very easy to wear!  You can even use it with your favorite belt.  You can easily switch from one buckle to another, so you can mix and match to fit your outfit and mood for the occasion.  You don’t have to worry about the size too, since one size fits all, which makes it a good gift idea.

Moreover, it’s better if you have a collection of these, so you can make any getup interesting by wearing a variety of belt buckles everyday.

Does anyone know of large corporate companies in the western U.S. where a master's in MIS would be used?

I am doing a project for school and I need to find companies in the U.S. for a person with a master's in MIS (management information systems). They are looking for a company that is progressive in women's and social issues and one they will feel comfortable in. Also one with good ethics. This person enjoys authority, likes making decisions, feels they are very marketable, a strong feminist, a political activist. They wouldn't mind a position in information management, and preferably one where there are other top women executives.

I realize this is a lot, it's a really retarded project. I'm really just looking for big companies in the western U.S. So if anyone has a job at a large company that might fit those characteristics, just a name and website would be great! Thanks!

Almost any in the bay area would answer that.
One that comes to mind quickly is Hewlett Packard

Lyle Lovett and His Large Band remains the big man's most ambitious album in many ways. A smart split is effected, and not only between styles--the horn-driven swing of the first half backs the record's wittiest, slyest songs, while the country-folk numbers are among Lovett's most pensive. He's not so mournful that he can't raise an eyebrow at heartache, though: try "I Married Her Just Because She Looks Like You." --Rickey Wright

It's Not Big It's Large It's Not Big It's Large
List Price: $13.98
Sale Price: $8.20
Used From: $4.28
Average Rating:

On his sophomore effort for Lost Highway (and first release in four years), Lyle Lovett tests the label's free-spirited reputation with an eclectic slate of songs that range from fervent country swing through gospel-blues, though the core here finds the Texas singer-songwriter in a decidedly quiet, introspective mood. Anchored by a vibrant, swinging take on Lester Young's "Tickle Toe," his big band's first sprawling instrumental workout in many a year, Lovett quickly segues into the intriguing gospel-blues of the "I Will Rise Up/Ain't No More Cane" medley before shrewdly contemplating the backside of life and fame's inevitable grade on "All Downhill from Here" and the weary "This Traveling Around." The plaintive grace of "Don't Cry a Tear" and "The Alley Song" hauntingly blurs genre boundaries, while "South Texas Girl" does a little quiet Tex-Mex retrenchment. Lovett celebrates his 50th year here with a muse that's ever restless, yet still spry enough to relish the simple, varied joys of the buoyant "Up in Indiana" (also featured in a stripped-down acoustic version), the bluesy "No Big Deal," and the gospel-meets-carnal playfulness of "Make It Happy" before another fervent, elegiac version of "Ain't No More Cane" brings the album full-circle. --Jerry McCulley

While music should be and is open for interpretation by the listener, Lovett's new album, IT'S NOT BIG IT'S LARGE, suggests notions of mortality, loss and the fluidity of time. In many of the songs, the past intrudes on the present and the narrator finds strength to deal with the travails of today by putting them into historical perspective. That sounds like heavy-going, but its Lovett's gift to make the deep thoughts slide down like honey.
