Monitor Color Problem - How To Repair LG710E CRT Monitor With Blue Colour Missing
If you think that electronic repair is very difficult to learn then you have to read this article where only by using a solder gun could solve a Monitor color problem. Of course there were many tough dog cases (very difficult to find out the fault) in electronic repair but at the same time there were also many cases that can be solve by some simple ways. This LG 710E LG Monitor came in with no blue color problem. How do I know if the blue color was missing? Simply run a color test (that you may also download from the internet) or from a Monitor testing program generator, you could clearly see as which of the color is missing when you run the color bar test.
A missing blue color in the Monitor could cause the display to turn yellowish. Troubleshooting color problem is one of the easiest in Monitor repairing. Whether the missing color is from blue, red or green there are some areas that you need to check in order to successfully repair it. Here are some of the points that you need to check:
- A bended color pin at the VGA connector. (If pin one is bend then there would be no red color)
- A defective VGA signal cable. If the internal wires were broken then there would be missing colors. You can check if the signal cable is good or bad by doing a continuity test using a multimeter.
- Dry joints in the CRT board such as in the CRT socket pins, video pre amp and driver IC and even at the connector pins. In fact this problem contributed about 80% of Monitor color problems. Applying fresh solder would usually solve the color problem.
- A defective IC either in the Video Pre-amp or Video Driver IC.
- Faulty components in the CRT board. It could be a shorted driver transistor or even electrolytic capacitors that the ESR reading had shot up!
- A bad CRT socket. Sometimes decayed glue could cause the internal pins rusted and thus affecting the colors. Replacing only the CRT socket would definitely solve the problem.
- A weak or a defective picture tube (CRT tube). Yes, I do came across one of the electron gun (most probably the cathode materials had used up) in the tube faulty caused a missing color in the screen. There’s no way to repair this type of problem-the only way is to replace the CRT tube.
- In the newer type of Monitor, color setting is save in the EEPROM IC . Thus, if the EEprom data is corrupted, you would also get a missing color! The only way to repair it is to reprogram the IC or use a soft jig to tune it back the color setting.
Now, which one of the above is the easiest to start with first when comes to troubleshooting the color problem? I believe you would agree with me that the first, second and the third are the easiest compare to the rest. Normally I would hit the Monitor with my bare hands to see if there are any changes in color at the display (be careful not to hit too hard till the casing broken). If there is a change or flashes then I can say that the Monitor has dry joints. And if it stills the same no matter how many times I hit it, I will then starts check the VGA connector and the cable.
In the above Monitor, the problem was dry joints because when I softly hit it with my hand at the side of the Monitor, the blue color immediately appears. The aluminum shielding at the CRT board was opened and I could clearly see lots of dry joints especially in the video pre amplifier and the video driver IC. When you resolder please don’t just touch on the IC’s only, you need to resolder others area as well like the CRT socket pins. Doing this would prevent any color loss again in the future. A good job would prevent call back and to save you time and money and most of all your reputation!
After everything was done, you then need to gently knock at the CRT board again with the plastic handle of the screw driver to see if the color problem still exists. You may also knock on the main board just in case there is any dry joints there. One more thing, if you find that the Monitor is a bit dusty, you may use a vacuum cleaner and a brush to clean up the dirty area.
Whether You Are repairing the LG 710E or any other brand of Monitors, if you come across any monitor color problem, you can always use the procedure above to find out the fault. If the VGA signal cable is okay and there were no dry joints in the Monitor, I guess the only way is to use voltage testing method and start checking components with your tester or meter.

Can I transfer pokemon from the original blue or red to diamond/pearl using fire red as an in-between?
For example:
Original blue/red in a gba -> Fire Red/ Leaf Green in another gba
Fire Red/ Leaf Green -> Diamond/Pearl via the DS?
Has anyone successfully done this before?
You can change Fire Red/Leaf Green to Diamond/Pearl/Platinum/Heart Gold/Soul Silver.
Unfortunately, original Gameboy game Pokemon cannot transfer to the GBA at all. Pokemon in Blue/Red/Yellow/Silver/Gold/Crystal are stuck in GameBoy regular, sorry.

Elvin Bishop has been traveling the blues road longer than most, and he's got the stories to prove it - many of which are contained within the songs on this release. Stops along the way include his work as a founding member of the groundbreaking Paul Butterfield Blues Band in the early '60s, and pop success with his 1976 smash hit Fooled Around and Fell In Love. Bishop's long and varied career has included plenty of side trips along the way as well, from deep down gutbucket blues played in smoky south side Chicago taverns, to raucous roadhouse R&B, to good time rock & roll on concert stages and festivals around the world. And at every stage along the way, he's instilled all of his music with passion, creativity, and a healthy helping of wisdom, wit, and good humor.Delta Groove Productions president Randy Chortkoff has been a fan and follower of Elvin's music through all the many phases of his career, beginning with Butterfield Blues Band in the mid 1960s, and when the opportunity arose to bring Elvin into the Delta Groove fold, Chortkoff jumped at the opportunity. The result was Elvin's Grammy-nominated 2008 CD The Blues Rolls On, and a flurry of other awards and accolades, including being named 2009 Male Blues Artist of The Year by Blues Blast magazine. Elvin's brand new release Red Dog Speaks, his second on Delta Groove Music, is the exciting next step in his blues journey.Right out of the gate, Bishop leaves no doubt where his heart is, cleverly introducing his long-time cohort - a 1959 Gibson ES-345 that lovingly answers to the name of 'Red Dog', with a gritty slow blues calculated to set the pace for what's to come. Along the way he smoothly steers the way from strutting blues and R&B, to a good dose of good-time rock & roll, and even an occasional detour through doo-wop, zydeco and gospel. Elvin has made plenty of talented friends over the years, and many of them jumped at the chance to help out including John Nemeth, Buckwheat Zydeco, Roy Gaines, Tommy Castro, Ronnie Baker Brooks, and Kid Andersen who all make guest appearances. And all of it adds up to an amalgam that can only be called 'Elvin Bishop music.'QUOTES:'The North Bay-based musician remains one of the genre's most distinctive guitar stylists, melding a slashing attack with a keen ear for melody.' East Bay Express'...careening slide and razor-edged bursts, all delivered with unflagging enthusiasm and wit.' Rolling Stone'Nemeth's harp and Bishop's slide make beautiful old music beautiful again.' Pittsburgh Post Gazette'Bishop is a good-hearted soul whose life mission is to entertain to the best of his ability.' Downbeat Red Dog Speaks follows on the heels of Elvin Bishop's critically acclaimed Grammy nominated album The Blues Rolls On, and carries forth the momentum with another satisfying and rousing collection of good time blues. Answering to the name of 'Red Dog,' Elvin's 1959 Gibson ES-345 guitar is the focus this time out bolstered by the addition of a few well-chosen, hand-selected friends which includes John Nemeth, Tommy Castro, Ronnie Baker Brooks, Roy Gaines, Kid Andersen, Buckwheat Zydeco and more! |

Even though one can view each segment of Krzysztof Kieslowski's Three Colors trilogy on its own, it seems absurd to do so; why buy the slacks instead of the entire suit? Created by Kieslowski and his writing partner Krzysztof Piesiewicz for France's bicentennial, the titles--and the themes of the films--come from the three colors of the French flag representing liberty, equality, and fraternity. Blue examines liberation through the eyes of a woman (Juliette Binoche) who loses her husband and daughter in an auto accident, and solemnly starts anew. White is an ironic comedy about a befuddled Polish husband (Zbigniew Zamachowski) who takes an odd path of revenge against his ex-wife (Julie Delpy). A Swiss model (Irène Jacob) strikes up a friendship with a retired judge (Jean-Louis Trintignant) who eavesdrops on his neighbors in Red. The trilogy is a snapshot of European life at a time of reconstruction after the Cold War, reflected through Kieslowski's moralist view of human nature and illumined by each title's palate color. The DVD set has numerous extras spread throughout the three discs; the end result is a superior collection. Each disc has a short retrospective, culled together from new interviews with Kieslowski's crew, plus film critic Geoff Andrew, biographer Annette Insdorf (who also does the commentaries), and fellow Polish director Ageniska Holland. Producer Marin Karmitz also reminisces about the experience. There's an exceptional effort to show the magic of Kieslowski (who died two years after the trilogy) through a discussion of his various career phases, interviews with the three lead actresses, four student films, and archival materials including simple--and wonderful--glimpses of the director at work. Excellent insight is also provided by Dominique Rabourdin's filmed "cinema lessons" with Kieslowski. Without viewing any of his other films, this set illustrates the uniqueness of Kieslowski. --Doug Thomas Miramax Home Entertainment is proud to present BLUE, WHITE and RED, the acclaimed films by director Krzysztof Kieslowski. Hailed by filmgoers as some of the most absorbing, engaging, well-crafted dramas in recent memory, the box set of BLUE, WHITE and RED Each DVD disc includes lengthy bonus features. WHITE: Sexy Julie Delpy ("Before Sunrise") stars in a mysterious tale of a man whose life disintegrates when his beautiful wife of six months deserts him. Forced to begin anew, he rebuilds his life, only to plan a dangerous scheme of vengeance against her. Winner of the Best Director Award at the Berlin Film Festival. RED: Irene Jacob ("The Double Life of Veronique") stars as a young model whose chance meeting with an unusual stranger leads her down a path of intrigue and secrecy. As her knowledge of the man deepens, she discovers an astonishing link between his past and her destiny. |

One of the cinema's great disappearing acts came to a close with the release of The Thin Red Line in late 1998. Terrence Malick, the cryptic recluse who withdrew from Hollywood visibility after the release of his visually enthralling masterpiece Days of Heaven (1978), returned to the director's chair after a 20-year coffee break. Malick's comeback vehicle is a fascinating choice: a wide-ranging adaptation of a World War II novel (filmed once before, in 1964) by James Jones. The battle for Guadalcanal Island gives Malick an opportunity to explore nothing less than the nature of life, death, God, and courage. Let that be a warning to anyone expecting a conventional war flick; Malick proves himself quite capable of mounting an exciting action sequence, but he's just as likely to meander into pure philosophical noodling--or simply let the camera contemplate the first steps of a newly birthed tropical bird, the sinister skulk of a crocodile. This is not especially an actors' movie--some faces go by so quickly they barely register--but the standouts are bold: Nick Nolte as a career-minded colonel, Elias Koteas as a deeply spiritual captain who tries to protect his men, Ben Chaplin as a G.I. haunted by lyrical memories of his wife. The backbone of the film is the ongoing discussion between a wry sergeant (Sean Penn) and an ethereal, almost holy private (newcomer Jim Caviezel). The picture's sprawl may be a result of Malick's method of "finding" a film during shooting and editing, and in some ways The Thin Red Line seems vaguely, intriguingly incomplete. Yet it casts a spell like almost nothing else of its time, and Malick's visionary images are a challenge and a signpost to the rest of his filmmaking generation. --Robert Horton |

Dr. Seuss - One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish Sale Price: $19.62 Used From: $0.13 Average Rating: ![]() |
|
One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish is more than a humorous tale about a school of aquatic creatures. Theodor Seuss Geisel enchants youngsters with a fanciful journey into the world of lumped Gumps, bookish Nooks, and boxing Gox. His fresh use of rhyme celebrates the wonders of language and imagination while infusing a love of reading. In the film version, the original story and zany illustrations are left intact, presented in a moving storybook and narrated by Seuss fans of all ages. As a bonus, the 30-minute program also includes the stories "Oh, the Thinks You Can Think!" and "The Foot Book." The trio of tales introduces youngsters to opposites ("Some are old and some are new") and cause and effect ("My shoe is off, my foot is cold"), while giving them permission to ask outrageous questions ("Did you ever fly a kite in bed?"). Wholly entertaining, the film is a suitable companion to a library of Seuss books. --Lynn Gibson |

SOG Flash I Straight - edge Folding Knife. Perhaps one of the coolest knives you've ever seen Forget its wicked-quick blade access, that it handles like a race car on rails, or that it locks up like Alcatraz. It just looks and feels extraordinary. The Flash family of knives feature SOG Assisted Technology (S.A.T.), which employs a powerful piston lock that is easily released with a sliding button. The Flash I comes with glass-reinforced Zytel handle and straight edge, satin finished blade. All Flash knives come standard with SOG's patent pending, reversible bayonet mounted clip that ensures the lowest, most discreet carry possible. They also had the foresight to incorporate an additional safety lock that gives added security when the blade is closed. More on S.A.T.: SOG Assisted Technology works through the balance of opposing high-tension coil springs. As one opens the blade the force to propel the knife open becomes greater than the closing force and the blade will open on its own. The end result propels the blade out once the operator has initiated the one-handed opening action. S.A.T. works so well that right-handers can use their left hand equally well to open a folding knife (of course this works oppositely for lefties). The sixth season of Entourage focuses on the title members rather than Vince (Adrian Grenier), the movie star they follow, which would have been a smart move had they been given more interesting story lines. Instead, Eric (Kevin Connolly) struggles with his startup agency and moons over his just-friends status with Sloan (Emmanuelle Chiriqui) while consoling himself with his needling neighbor Ashley (Alexis Dziena); Ari (Jeremy Piven) is gleefully hazing his assistant Lloyd (Rex Lee) for 100 days with the promise to make him a full agent should he survive; Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) enjoys a serious relationship with Jamie-Lynn Sigler (as herself) but tires of being seen as a hanger-on and decides to enroll in business school; Johnny Drama (Kevin Dillon), is, as usual, sabotaging a good thing (a starring role in Ed Burns's NBC drama). For Vince, however, the biggest thing to happen to him the entire season is⦠his house gets robbed. Without a film for Vince to work on (after doing The Great Gatsby for Martin Scorsese, Vince's next film is delayed) and no deals to negotiate, the show gets away from its most interesting setting, rendering it weaker as a result. The celebrity guest stars, however, punctuate the season with great self-effacing cameos, notably David Schwimmer, who curses his way through a pitch meeting in which every project has a bumbling role for him; Tom Brady, who paints a picture-perfect domestic life with supermodel wife Gisele ("Just come over to the house. She cooks."); and Matt Damon, who angrily haggles Vince to donate to a charity fundraiser in the season finale. A sleazebag Bob Saget makes another appearance as himself, as do Bono, Steve Nash, LeBron James, and Jay Leno. Two so-so behind-the-scenes features and audio commentaries by the cast and crew round out the special features. --Ellen A. Red vs. Blue The Blood Gulch Chronicles: The First Five Seasons List Price: $59.95 Sale Price: $29.17 Used From: $82.80 Average Rating: ![]() |
|
Though this irreverent animated series from Rooster Teeth Productions is inspired by the blockbuster Halo video game franchise, one doesn't need to be familiar with the game--or gaming in general--to appreciate Red vs. Blue's skewering of action tropes, military bravado, and science fiction in general. A prime example of the modern art form known as machinima (the use of video game graphics engines to create new animation), Red vs. Blue is also essentially a sitcom set in the eponymous Halo scenario, with two teams of soldiers in constant pursuit of each other's flag, yet completely unaware of the reason for the competition. Stuck in a repetitive and pointless scenario from which they appear to have no escape, the Red and Blue teams become embroiled in an absurdly elaborate game of one-upmanship that involves a Spanish-speaking robot who falls in love with a sentient, trigger-happy tank; a short-tempered talking bomb; frequent flashes backwards and forwards in time; an alien savior; and constant bouts of possession by various artificial intelligence. If this sounds like the densest chunk of science fiction ever presented, keep in mind that it's all delivered in rapid-fire bursts of snarky, slapstick humor over the course of 100 five-minute episodes; think a futuristic version of Stripes, not Dune. Since Red vs. Blue was created for web broadcast using the Halo engine, image and quality tends to be somewhat low resolution, but picture-perfect visuals aren't what fans are expecting with this five-disc set. Rather, it's the chance to have the entire series run in one set, along with an impressive collection of extras. Chief among the latter are multiple audio commentaries from the cast and crew for each season (all have been featured on previous releases), including a new anniversary commentary recorded for this set. Two special productions--the Xbox Live miniseries Out of Mind and Recovery One--are also a highlight, as are a barrage of special videos, including the show's hilarious public service announcements, voice-over outtakes (many of which have been deliberately flubbed), and deleted scenes. Faux DVD menu content, including fake FBI warnings and nonsensical language options, is evidence of the appreciation for the show's fans that went into this set, as is a new sixth disc of rarities, including early dialogue recordings, award-show footage, and even a version of the series executed completely with Legos. It's hard to imagine a show that plays on paper like Red vs. Blue deserving such a deluxe presentation, but the sheer quality of the imaginations behind the program clearly warrant this impressive set. --Paul Gaita Studio: New Video Group Release Date: 06/29/2010 |

Six Feet Under - The Complete Third Season List Price: $39.98 Sale Price: $12.34 Used From: $14.95 Average Rating: ![]() |
|
No other show captures the ebb and flow of day-to-day human relationships like Six Feet Under, which chronicles the dysfunctional lives of the Fisher family, who run a funeral home in Los Angeles. Though the overt theme of the series is mortality--every episode opens with the death of someone whose body will end up on the Fishers' slab--but the third season, even moreso than the first two, explores the intertwining struggles for connection and for personal freedom. The season starts slowly but compellingly, laying out the changes in the Fishers' lives. Nate (Peter Krause, We Don't Live Here Anymore) has married and has a baby. David (Michael C. Hall) is settling into tense domesticity with his angry boyfriend. Claire (Lauren Ambrose) has launched into art school. Ruth (Frances Conroy), their mother, is reaching out for companionship from an emotionally stilted young intern, and Brenda (Rachel Griffiths, Hilary and Jackie), Nate's ex-fiancee, has apparently vanished from their lives. But as storylines unfold across the 13 episodes, the emotional heft of the season comes from the expanded roles of the family's intimates. Federico (Freddy Rodriguez), who has leveraged his way into a partnership with the Fisher brothers, finds himself fighting to be treated as an equal at work and struggling with his wife's depression at home. Trying to sort out their relationship, David and Keith (Mathew St. Patrick) negotiate everything from therapy to threesomes. Meanwhile Lisa (Lili Taylor, I Shot Andy Warhol), Nate's unhappy wife, increasingly becomes the center of the season as her jealousy and need become unbearable. Though big events happen, the most jolting drama on Six Feet Under comes from small conflicts--miscommunications, crossed desires, habits that don't mesh. The cast, writers, and directors can, with breathtaking skill and subtlety, spin a brief conversation into a microcosm of the character's lives. By this third season, the show has taken on the richness and complexity of a great novel; it's an impressive and deeply enjoyable achievement. --Bret Fetzer The complicated lives and relationships of the Fisher family, owners and operators of an independent funeral home. |
